Irene Norstedt retired from her position as Director responsible for the People: Health and Society Directorate within the DG for Research and Innovation at the European Commission in 2025, but remains active as a Senior Advisor for the EC. In our video interview, she provides an overview of the Commission’s strategic approach and sustained efforts to advance personalised medicine since 2010. She emphasises the importance of collaboration, funding and policy development in optimising healthcare outcomes amid demographic and economic challenges.
