Ejner Moltzen is a medicinal chemist by training and has worked in R&D for almost 30 years. He was involved with Innovation Fund Denmark for eight years, acting as the agency’s lead representative on international activities relating to personalised medicine. He was elected Chair of ICPermed for four years and played a key role in preparing the launch of EP PerMed. In our video interview, Ejner discusses the origins of personalised medicine within the scope of genomic research around 20 years ago. Initially a niche scientific concept, personalised medicine has gradually evolved into a practical approach that benefits patient care directly. In recent years, personalised medicine has progressed from regional pilot projects to national implementations within healthcare systems, representing a major milestone in its development.
