activities, including the Implementation School on Personalised
Medicine in Vilnius, our 3rd Round Table in Copenhagen, and a

Berlin in 2027.

PerMed 3rd Round Table: Challenges and Best Practices in
the Implementation of Personalised Medicine Approaches
in Nordic Countries – Industry View
EP
PerMed is organising the 3rd edition of its Round Table
series on 18 May 2026 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The event
aims to collect concrete insights from industry experts
on the opportunities and challenges of personalised
medicine (PM), including real-life examples of problems
encountered and effective solutions. It also aims to
understand how successful approaches can be transferred
from academia, scaled across countries and implemented
effectively.

Implementation
School on Personalised Medicine – A Sex- and
Gender-Sensitive Approach
The
EP PerMed Implementation School on Personalised Medicine
will take place from 27 to 30 October 2026 in Vilnius,
Lithuania. The event will focus on integrating sex and
gender perspectives into clinical practice, research,
and health systems. This interactive programme will
bring together clinicians, researchers, public health
professionals and policymakers to explore how
gender-sensitive approaches can be translated into
real-world practice.

Save-the-Date!
Joint EP PerMed & ICPerMed Conference in Berlin
EP
PerMed and ICPerMed will jointly organise a conference
in Berlin, Germany, in the period of 27-29 April 2027.
The event will focus on collaborations to accelerate
personalised medicine innovations and solutions into
healthcare. The event is currently planned as a two-day
conference, with an additional welcome event for
participants arriving the day before. More information
on the event will be available soon. |

New
Podcast Episode: Valentina’s Lymphoma Story and
personalised CAR T-cell Therapy
For
Valentina, changing homes and continents was meant to
mark a new beginning. However, the diagnosis of lymphoma
came just as everything seemed ready. Within hours, her
life was turned upside down, culminating in an
experimental treatment at the time: CAR T-cell
therapy.

General
Assembly Meeting
EP
PerMed held its General Assembly meeting on 21 and
22 April in Brussels. As the partnership’s formal
decision-making body, the General Assembly brings
together all partner organisations to discuss and
decide on EP PerMed’s strategic direction, key
priorities, supported actions, and the allocation of
budget for implementing its activities.
During
the meeting, colleagues from across the EP PerMed work
packages presented selected activities and achievements,
including example projects from the Fast Track Call and
the first EP PerMed Hackathon in Ostend, Belgium.
Partners also discussed the partnership’s financial
reporting and the monitoring of key performance
indicators.
Looking
ahead, the General Assembly also discussed several
important upcoming activities, including the next EP
PerMed Summer School and the soon-to-be-launched EP
PerMed Stakeholder Forum. |

Webibar - The Canadian Precision Health Initiative
(CPHI)
In
the frame of the ICPerMed Strategic Working Group on
Internationalisation, a webinar will be organised on 28
May 2026 from 15:00 to 16:30 CEST. Dr Étienne Richer,
Director of Genomics Programs at Genome Canada, will
present the Canadian Precision Health Initiative
(CPHI).

JTC2026 – Translational Research on Cancer
Metabolism
The
TRANSCAN project has pre-announced its JTC2026, focusing
on ‘Translational Research on Cancer Metabolism:
Multidisciplinary Approaches for Diagnosis and
Treatment’. The call will launch on 20 May 2026.
Pre-proposals must be submitted by 21 July 2026.

Symposium 2026 to Spotlight Genomic Medicine in
Germany
The
5th genomDE Symposium will take place on 28–29 September
2026 at the Bundeskunsthalle in Bonn. Hosted by BfArM,
the event will bring together experts from genomic
medicine, research, healthcare and policy to discuss the
future of genomic medicine in Germany.

WHO
Report on AI in Health Care across EU Member States
WHO/Europe
has published a new report assessing the use of
artificial intelligence (AI) in health care across the
27 European Union Member States. The report shows that
AI is becoming increasingly embedded in health systems,
with all EU countries recognising its potential to
improve patient care.

PRECISEU
Call: Advancing Interregional Innovation in Personalised
Medicine
The
PRECISEU project has published a call to support
innovative interregional projects in personalised
medicine under the Regional Innovation Valleys
framework. The call will empower SMEs, startups and
innovation actors to develop and scale solutions in
ATMPs and health data, strengthening regional ecosystems
and accelerating the uptake of high-impact,
patient-centred innovations across Europe.

WHO
Online Course: Good Practices for Clinical Trial Design
and Implementation
The
World Health Organization (WHO) launches a free, online,
self-paced online course on ‘Good Practices for Clinical
Trial Design and Implementation’. Designed to provide a
comprehensive understanding of the factors that
contribute to trial quality, the course covers five key
scientific and ethical principles for designing and
conducting high-quality clinical trials.

PROPHET
project presents SRIA and Roadmap on Personalised
Prevention
On
26-27 March, the Coordination and Support Action (CSA)
PROPHET presented the results of its work: a Strategic
Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) and a Roadmap for
Personalised Prevention. During the PROPHET event,
Monika Frenzel (ANR and EP PerMed WP2 lead) has
presented EP PerMed and its activities related to
personalised prevention, e.g. via research calls,
communication or training activities. Personalised
prevention is also part of the Strategic Research and
Innovation Agenda for Personalised Medicine (SRIA for
PM, 2023).
The
CSA PROPHET is the last project of the so called
ICPerMed Family, a set of projects financially supported
by the European Union under the Horizon 2020 framework
programme in the field of personalised medicine and
connected to or in support of the International
Consortium for Personalised Medicine (ICPerMed).
