Focusing on cardiovascular, metabolic and kidney diseases, the call opened on 25 November 2025, the day before our ICPerMed & EP PerMed Joint Conference, happening now in Prague. After a short registration, a live stream is available via the EP PerMed website, and the recordings will be published shortly after the event.

Ten Years implementing Personalised Medicine – first joint ICPerMed and EP PerMed Conference in Prague

The European Partnership for Personalised Medicine (EP PerMed) and the International Consortium for Personalised Medicine (ICPerMed) jointly organised a conference on the achievements in personalised medicine in the last decade on 26 and 27 November 2025 in Prague, Czech Republic. The conference brought together more than 100 international experts and stakeholders in the field to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the EU Council Conclusions on Personalised Medicine for Patients and the first Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda on Personalised Medicine.

Call Announcement: JTC2026 - Personalised Medicine for CARdiovascular, MEtabolic, and kidNey diseases (CARMEN2026)

With the JTC2026, EP PerMed will fund research projects in human health on innovative personalised medicine strategies for patients with cardiovascular, metabolic or kidney diseases. Research projects may focus on a single disease or explore these conditions in combination. The available budget for this call is 38 Mio. € (approx.). Deadline for pre-proposal submission in 10 February 2026.

Pre-Announcement: EP PerMed Fast Track 2026

EP PerMed will launch the second "Fast Track" Programme 2026 on 2 December 2025, offering targeted support to accelerate the validation and adoption of innovative personalised medicine solutions. The programme helps early-stage innovations progress by at least one Technology Readiness Level through dedicated validation studies carried out together with specialised European validation centres.

Pre-Announcement: Twinning Call 2026

EP PerMed will launch its first "Twinning Call" 2026 for proposals on “Advancing Collaborative Implementation of Personalised Medicine Approaches in Healthcare” on 10 December 2025. EP PerMed "Twinning Calls" are designed to support the the implementation of personalised medicine solutions or approaches from one local setting to another one in a different country through peer-to-peer exchanges in a defined timeline.

EP PerMed RITC2026 Matchmaking Event 

The matchmaking event for the RITC2026 Test and Demonstration of Multimodal Data Approaches for Personalised Medicine (MultiPMData2026) on 18 November 2025 gathered 116 participants from diverse disciplines. During the day, 27 research ideas were presented in form of short 3 minutes pitches. Two keynote lectures introduced call relevant topics.

French National PRecISion Medicine Center in Oncology (IHU PRISM)

EP PerMed awardes the title of “Best Practice” (BP) in Personalised Medicine to the Institut Hospitalo Universitaire PRISM, National PRecISion Medicine Center in Oncology (PRISM) in France. IHU PRISM is a large, multidisciplinary national institute, dedicated to the advancement and implementation of precision oncology across various types of cancer. Its structure integrates clinical trials, molecular profiling, data science, and experimental biology, specifically designed for a comprehensive patient centric approach.

New Episodes! Season 2 of the EP PerMed Podcast ‘ The Science of You’ starting

The second season of The Science of You explores personalised medicine and its advancements from a different perspective. At the heart of the narrative are the first-hand accounts of patients, family members and carers who have encountered personalised medicine approaches.

Tamara is a German nurse who has lived in Lisbon for more than twenty years. Cancer has been a recurring presence in her family, affecting three people on her father’s side as well as her mother. This episode tells her story and how a chance encounter with a young patient prompts her to undergo genetic testing, perhaps saving her life and leading her to choose preventive surgery.

ESR1 Testing via Liquid Biopsy in Metastatic Breast Cancer

EP PerMed awards the title of “Best Practice” (BP) in Personalised Medicine to Cancer Patients Europe (CPE) and Italian patient associations through the development of a white paper on ESR1 mutations and the use of liquid biopsy in metastatic breast cancer. This effort stands as an excellent example of how patient advocacy can inform and accelerate implementation of personalised medicine tools, support health technology assessment processes, and ultimately improve outcomes for patients.

EP PerMed at the 5th African Health Research and Innovation Funders Forum (AHRIFF)

Around 70 representatives of grant-making institutions, African government and public funding agencies, philanthropic organisations, development finance institutions and regional banks came together at the 5th AHRIFF meeting in Cape Town, South Africa, from 5-7 November. The aim was to create greater alignment between funding agencies investing in Africa and improve understanding of Africa’s health priorities.

The Role and Impact of Pharmacogenomics in Advancing Personalised Medicine in Iran

A new pharmacogenomics initiative in Iran provides population-specific data for 168 clinically relevant drugs. By characterising allele frequencies across 37 genes, it aims to reduce adverse drug reactions and optimise treatments in oncology, cardiology and psychiatry. The project, led by the Endocrinology and Metabolism Research Institute in Tehran University of Medical Sciences, aligns with CPIC standards for clinical implementation.
