Announcement for the Joint Transnational Call (JTC)
2026

PerMed pre-announces its Joint Transnational
Call 2026 (JTC2026) “Personalised Medicine for
CARdiovascular, MEtabolic, and kidNey diseases”
(acronym: CARMEN2026), co-funded by the European Union.
The call aims to fund multinational, innovative research
projects in personalised medicine. The call will be
implemented in two stages with a budget of
approximately 38 million euros. The full call
text will be published on 25 November 2025.

PerMed Symposium on Personalised Medicine
Implementation
EP
PerMed organised its first Expert Symposium on
Personalised Medicine Implementation on 21 October 2025
in Bilbao (Spain). During this one-day event, high-level
experts and invited participants showcased and discussed
nine different examples of how European national and
regional healthcare systems address the implementation
of personalised medicine. They focused on the
facilitating factors, as well as the gaps and challenges
that can impede its adoption within these systems.

Announcement Twinning Call 2026
The
Twinning Call 2026 is designed to accelerate the
implementation of personalised medicine solutions or
approaches from one country to another through
peer-to-peer exchanges. This call offers up to 50,000
EUR to activities that facilitate the exchange of
solutions or approaches in personalised medicine and
build up the capacities and capabilities of one or both
participating parties.

Best Practice Example: Childhood Cancer in
Sweden
EP
PerMed awards the title of Best Practice in Personalised
Medicine to Genomic Medicine Sweden (GMS) for their
national implementation of whole-genome and
-transcriptome sequencing in childhood cancer in Sweden
(GMS Childhood Cancer). GMS Childhood Cancer is
dedicated to ensuring that every child diagnosed with
cancer in Sweden has access to the most accurate and
personalised diagnostics and treatments available.

Winner
of EP PerMed’s JTC2022 Video Competition
The
winner of the JTC2022 video competition is the team of
young researchers of the DAWN-AF consortium with the
video ‘Digital Twins to Treat Atrial Fibrillation’.
The
DAWN-AF project develops digital cardiac twins – virtual
replicas of patients’ hearts – to design
patient-specific ablation strategies for atrial
fibrillation. By combining advanced imaging, AI-based
modelling, and clinical data, the project aims to
improve treatment precision, shorten recovery time, and
make personalised therapies more accessible for patients
worldwide.

Medicine
EP
PerMed is organising a two-day, hands-on training course
on research data management (RDM), which will take place
on 5 and 6 February 2026 in Paris, France. Interested
candidates need to apply by providing details of their
PM-related experience, achievements and publications, as
well as their motivation.
The
deadline for applications is 7 November 2025.

PerMed Hackathon registrations now open!
The
first EP PerMed Hackthon will take place from 3 to 4
March 2026 in Oostende, Belgium. This immersive event is
designed to drive innovation and collaboration in
personalised medicine. Participants will focus on the
ideation of solutions that improve patient care and
clinical decision making. In addition, the event will
provide a platform for participants to network and build
meaningful partnerships. Registration is now open!

Fast Track Validation Programme 2025, an initiative
designed to accelerate the development, validation, and
adoption of innovative personalised medicine solutions

& EP PerMed Joint Conference
ICPerMed
and EP PerMed are organising their first joint
conference, which will take place from 26 to 27 November
2025 in Prague (Czech Republic). The conference will
celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Council
Conclusions on personalised medicine for patients and
the first Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda on
Personalised Medicine (2015).
The deadline
for registration is 14 November 2025.
