On 12 April, EU-X-CT organised a Public Stakeholder Forum in Brussels, Belgium. The event brought together different stakeholders to discuss the issues related to patient participation in clinical trials across EU borders. The Forum included several panel discussions where regulators, Commission representatives, patients and investigators shared their perspectives on enabling cross-border access to clinical trials. The report now published summarises the key findings and includes the perspective of two projects funded by the Horizon Europe Mission on Cancer, PCM4EU and PRIME-ROSE, on cross-border access to pragmatic precision medicine trials.

The EU-X-CT Cross-Border Clinical Trials Initiative focuses on identifying barriers to participation in cross-border clinical trials and developing recommendations to overcome these challenges. Based on feedback from the EU-X-CT surveys and discussions at the Stakeholder Forum, the Initiative is now working to develop recommendations on access to cross-border clinical trials. These recommendations are expected to be published for public comment by the end of 2024.
