The Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union organised a High-Level Conference entitled ‘Personalised Medicine: The Evolution of Healthcare to Improve People’s Life’. During this event, the upcoming European Partnership on Personalised Medicine (EP PerMed) was announced.

The conference brought together a large number of high-level experts and stakeholders with different background and expertise, from different types of organisations and countries, including from outside Europe, to discuss challenges and opportunities in the field of genomic-based personalised medicine, as well as aspects not covered in research and funding.
One of the sessions on the first day was dedicated to the introduction of EP PerMed and the strategic research and innovation agenda for personalised medicine. On the second day, ICPerMed chair Ejner Moltzen chaired the session ‘Best practices in international cooperation in the context of Personalised Medicine’.
